SMS application can conflict

Mine was a new laptop which came with a pre-installed SMS application.
Having tried many possible solutions, contacting the manufacturer's Helpdesk
got me uninstalling this software which can conflict with WM. Magic! WM now
behaves as it should.
 
To clarify, the main problem I experienced was that Windows Mail would only
send/receive on opening, i.e. 'Send Immediately' and toggling 'Send/Receive'
were doing nothing.
