Hi everybody,

a few days ago i realised i lost the smooth scrolling effect in windows
explorer.
Of course i checked everything: the "use smooth scrolling" setting in
Internet Options
is checked, the HKCU/Control Panel/Desktop/ "SmoothScroll D-WORD is set
to "1"
and every setting under System/Performance/Visual Effetcts regarding
smooth scrolling
is enabled! What the hell happened? I use the MS Comfort Optical Mouse
3000 with the
latest IntelliPoint version from Microsoft.

a.. You may have Microsoft's IntelliPoint mouse driver installed, which
conveniently disables mouse motion adjustments when a non-Microsoft pointing
device is connected. Uninstalling the IntelliPoint drivers
(ControlPanel->Add/Remove programs?) should restore the generic OS mouse
driver and let you adjust motion sensitivity again.

try an earlier version of the driver

But i have a Microsoft pointing device connected (Comfort Optical Mouse
3000). I've also tried uninstalling the IntelliPoint 5.5 version and
installed the 5.3 version (which came with the mouse) with no results.
No smooth scrolling!

Try with another mouse see if that solves the problem.
