I have a small red x appearing on the task bar icon of my M.O. Outlook. Also
it is faded out and says it it offline. It used to be configured to pick up
on an exchange server but I no longer work with that server. Now I just want
it to be the default icon. So again It has a small red x in the bottom right
of fadde out icon. How can I undo those settings??

Have you removed the Exchange Server account and added any other mail
accounts? See if the "Work Offline" option is checked on the File menu

Sounds like the X is a warning that you have a confugration problem. When
you say you used to work with Exchange, what does that mean? If you were
working with an OST file from your old Exchange server to store your data,
but no longer connect to that server, export to PST immediately. You need to
configure Outlook to work with the kind of email account & data storage you
use now. What is that, precisely?

It was checked to work offline. Problem is solved. Thank you. If it was a
snake it would have bit me.
