Small buttons appearing repeatedly in the browser.

I cant remember exactly when it started but small white
buttons keep appearing intermittently in the browser
during surfing. Sometimes they are so numerous you cant
see links.
Has anybody else encountered this and if so could you
advise me how to stop it. I run a pentium 4 with Win XP.

The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).
