Sluggish performance

I created a 2.0 MB Excel file that works beautifully when I am not connected to my office network. However, when my laptop is connected, I experience a 10-second delay whenever I enter data into a cell within the file. Other users of the same file are experiencing the same problem.

What is causing this sluggishness?

I wonder whether you have any links to files on the network. When you're
disconnected, Excel might not even try to update them, but being
connected, Excel goes hunting down the files. Check Links from the Edit
menu, or look for Bill Manville's FindLinks utility on Stephen Bullen's
web site, http://bmsltd.ie

Could be maybe just a general Network problem, or excessive monitoring or
mirroring, etc?.......do you experience the delays ONLY with this particular
Excel file, or with ALL Excel files, and/or with other type files
too?.......try to isolate the conditions as much as possible, and it may
make the answer more easily identified.

There are no external links with this particular Excel file. Can you
think of any hardware issues or network issues that you have seen in the
past that would cause the sluggishness I described?
