Slowdown

My network components are:

Computer 1: Desktop PC, XP Pro.
Computer 2: Portable Compaq, XP Home.
Router with dsl modem.

Both computers can access the internet with no problem.

When browsing the local network by using "My Network Places " or " My PC" in
Computer 2, I see
shared resources ( folders and printers ) on both computers, but when
triying to access any of
them, it takes more than 10 minutes to do it !!! ( Same happens when
printing from Computer 2 to the printer connected to Computer 1).
However if I do same operation in Computer 1 ( the one with XP Pro)
there is no delay at all.

Any suggestion ?

I ´ve just read a similar problem in another post refering to MS Knowledge
base article 294756. On that article indicates Kaspersy anti virus can be
culprit of the problem. Since my computer runs Kaspersky, I will disconnect
it and see what happens.
