Slowdown during game

I have a gmae making program that slows down during a test play. It used to have black bars andlines when played in full screen mode, too, so I disabled the graphics driver I was using and then downloaded and updated version and now it just consistently hiccups. Every 1 or 2 seconds it keeps stalling and it's very annoying. It didn't use to do this.

What could be my problem? Do I need another graphics driver? I downloaded one that supported the video card on this PC.

Help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hey Jason,

Within your control panel, under Administative tools, load
the performance console. This consists of a real-time
system monitor and Performance Logs and Alerts. Although
it's beyond the scope of this post, you can use the counter
logs within Perf. Logs and Alerts to analyze different
components of your system and then replay them in the
system monitor. This is an excellent tool to determine
what the problem might be. (ie: Memory, Hard Drive,
Pagefile, Video Card). Check the WinXP help or online for
details on how to use.

-Regards
