Slow Windows XP Home Log Off

I'm running Windows XP home. We've always had fast user switching
enabled with no problems. However lately we've noticed logging off has
become extremely slow. What I have noticed is that after you have
logged off and are waiting, if you press Ctrl Alt Del, the Log Off
screen shows up immediately. I'm going to try more troubleshooting
myself, in the meantime I was hoping this is a comman problem (isn't
Microsoft wonderful) that someone has a quick and dirty fix. It's not
a big deal pressing the Ctrl Alt Del to speed things up, but it would
be nice to fix.
