Slow windows 2000

If I leave the computer sitting unattended for greater
than about 15 minutes,when I return it is so slow that I
have to reboot. Screensavers deactivated, power saver
options set to never.
would appreciate any help.
 
Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc, select the "Processes" tab, then
find out what's eating up your CPU time. Could be a virus!
