I'm using Windows XP Media Center Edition. AMD 64 processor
So here's my problem:

Windows in general boots fine, but when I select my user account and enter
my password, it loads
really slowly. It stays on the blue screen that shows your user account icon
and text saying that its "loading your preferences" for a while. Then, when I
finally get inot my account, only the desktop wallpaper shows up. The start
menu, the toolbar at the bottom, the system tray, and other applications
that boot up at start don't load until after half a minute or so. I've looked
through the programs that run at start and haven't seen anything
"suspicious." Any help?
By the way, when I load into a different user account, this doesn't happen.

One option to figure out what is causing the delay is to do some clean boot
troubleshooting.

A work around, since it doesn't happen in another account, is to create a
new account. Login to that new account at least once and test. If things
are fine in that one then copy the data and settings from the old to the
new. Test the new one some more. If it still works fine delete the old
account.
