slow to bootup

Hi, I unchecked lots of stuff from the startup menu, its a little faster but it still takes about 60 seconds to bootup is this normal? also I tried to bypass the signing on I don't have to put a password in but I still have the icon, how can I just bootup and go strait to windows like I can in winxp, I'm trying to like vista but it such an annoying os.
