Slow startup

I use a windows xp home edition computer and it takes a
long time to start. I have tried different methods of
speeding up the time it takes for my computer to start,
but every attempt has failed.
Do any of you have any suggestions of how can I reduce
the time it takes for my computer to start? If so, THANK
YOU VERY MUCH. YOUR HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED.
