Slow startup

I wonder if anyone can answer as to why my startup is
slow. It was working fine, and then all of a sudden it
takes forever for the startup menu to load. The desktop
picture will come on, but it takes from 5-7 minutes until
the icons appear, and until they do appear, I cannot do
anything. Help!!

Hi. Have you checked what programs are causing the slowdown? Start>Run>msconfig. Look at the list of startup programs and uncheck some programs that are not relevant. You can recheck programs later.
