Slow startup

I upgraded the drivers for my Audigy sound card recently
and now it appears there is a problem with XP startup.
It starts fine but seems to hang at the Startup sound.
It does this for a good 2 minutes before I can access
anything on the desktop. I tried uninstalling the
drivers from Creative and reinstalling to no avail. I
also tried to use restore to just before the Driver
update but it would not let me do that. Unfortunatly I
deleted my previous Creative drivers. I am guessing of
course that it is the sound card drivers loading that are
hanging.
I am on Night shifts and have not yet done a selective
startup through MSconfig.
Any other ideas?
Thanks Hugh

since the issue is with the audio drivers, you may check
the device manager for the entry of the audio drivers and
right click on it.In one of the tabs you shall have the
option of Driver Rollback. You may use it as it generally
helps.
