I have loaded sp2 everyway I can think of from auto
updates to slipstream into xp disk but each time my
computer takes forever to startup. It sets there with my
background picture and no task bar or icons for minutes
then slowly shows the task bar then the icons but
anything I try to do it takes forever even though a ctl
alt del shows the the processor is not that busy.
removed zonealarm disabled norton no effect each time it
comes up samething taskbar and icons take forever and so
does anything else once the taskbar and icons showup.
Funny I had bata sp2 on my computer a few months back and
did not have this problem but did not see the need for
sp2 so I removed it. Did notice that each time it does
say after a very long time that a norton driver did not
load. If it ever gets up so I can get to control panel I
am going to delete norton system works 2003 and try
again. Works fine in safe mode.

Ofcourse it works fine in Safe Mode, because you don't
have any user services running.
Try creating a new user - if you are still having problems
ROLLBACK to SP1 (Uninstall SP2)

I cleaned temp and cookies before install will try some
of the other things if I can ever get it up
