Slow Response

I have upgraded to Windows 2000 from 98se and the
applications are slow to open or use. Outlook takes about
15 to 20 seconds to open and become usable. This is in a
corperate enviroment and the users are complaining. Please
help

Where on the "hardware" curve are you. Windows 2000 requires
considerably more hardware resources that Windows 98 for the same
minimum response time.

The systems are dell 1.4gig systems gx260s with a gig of
ram and 20gig hard-drives.
