Slow Response to Templates

Why is the response to opening a template from "File, New" so slow? We had a
new server installed yesterday, and the workgroup templates are stored on the
server. Today, when utilizing "File, New" the response is extremely slow,
i.e., 60 seconds or more.
The path for the workgroup templates is correct.

Hmm... let's see. Installed new server and now Word is slow. What's changed?
Not Word, so that can't be the problem. I know! Must be something to do with
the server! Get the geeks to have a look at the box. No point in mucking
around with Word; it's only going to perform as well as the environment
allows it to.
