Slow Response when switching between User Screens

Recently, I have been having a very slow response when trying to switch
between user screens in Windows XP. I upgraded to SP2 a few weeks back. I ran
Ad-aware and Spybot the other day when I noticed the slow response and caught
about 100 bugs between the two sweeps but performance is still slow. Once I
am in a user account, performance is fine. It's just the switching process
that can take a minute or so when it used to be seconds.
