Slow response on keyboard

I am currently experience some slow lag responses on keyboard. If i type
something, it takes a second or two after it shows up. This happens almost
everytime I type.

Basically, I have a Windows XP HP Media Center PC7067c. A wireless keyboard
came with it powered via USB Receiver. The keyboard itself requires 2 AA
batteries. It's been working fine for the last 3 years or so until it just
stoppped responding every second or so starting about yesterday.

For example, If I were to type, the letters I would type would appear 3
seconds later after I type.

I tried unistalling and reinstalling the keyboard, the problem is still
present. I tried installing a wired keyboard, the problem still occurs. I
tried System Restore, Disc Cleanup, Disc Defragment, its still happening.
Yes, I changed my batteries, I cleaned out my Keyboard and I know for sure
they are working. I was just playing a PC game, and it just happened moments
later.

This does not appear to be a printing problem.
