Slow reaction when inserting new lines or copy & paste

Hi to everyone:

When inserting new lines to a worksheet the reaction of
Excel is very slow. The same is with operations including
copy & paste. We have these complaints since we moved from
Excel 97 to Excel XP. We run Office XP under NT4.
Unfortunately we were not able to isolate some common
factors. Has anyone an idea? Input is highly appreciated.
