Slow printer access

Hi list,
I am having a problem with an XP box being very slow to access a shared
printer on a WIN98 peer. This has been installed & working fine for awhile,
but now it is slow to browse or print to the printer. I have reinstalled the
printer, replaced the NIC & cable & even put it into a different network. It
works better accessing a WINXP peer shared printer on a 2nd network & a
little better (but still delays somewhat) on a 2nd WIN98 peer share. Any
ideas?

Sounds like a spooling issue. Can you enable spooling and/or disable it
then try printing.

Thanks for the reply, but the delay occurs even when just trying to connect
to the printer, regardless of whether I'm trying to print to it or not.
