Slow Preview Pane

In Outlook 2003, the preview pane takes almost a full
minute to pull up an email. I've experienced this
problem with Outlook 2002, but I haven't been able to
find a solution for 2003. This particular computer is
almost new and doesn't have a large volume of email on it
yet. It also has plenty of hard drive space.

Does anyone know of a setting that could be affecting
Outlook's performance?

As a follow-up, I just realized that it only does this
with email that has a file attachment. It is able to
preview messages without attachments at the normal
speed. Once a message has been previewed, it is also
able to open an attachment at normal speed, it is the
preview that takes so long.

The article I linked has a couple of other causes listed too.
