slow performance

My computer is running unbelievably slow. It constantly
has a bubble in the taskbar saying 'memory is low' and
the disk scan/clean freature comes up. This morning I
went in to programs and found Windows Hotfix using 6.9MB
12 times. There is another list of Hotfix's as long that
don't show MB and have a red lightening (?) symbol by
them. Does this have anything to do with why my computer
is running so slow. What do I do to improve the
performance. I've defraged, compressed, deleted files and
nothing seems to resolve it. My 'memory blaster' program
is doing zip.
Thank You,
debi

Debi, how much Ram does your system have. It should be at least 256MB and
512MB preferably. Check for a virus
Go to www.google.com and type virus checker. You can do it online.
Also, check for spy and ad ware. There's
a couple of programs that are free and will do that for you.

THat leaves me feeling that you are confusing 'Memory' and 'Hard disk
space'. EIther might give a message about being low, but it is the disk
space that would lead into disk cleanup
