Slow Opening Reply window and runtime error deleting contacts

I have read some postw about slow opening Windows (same bug I have) and I saw
a solution to delete contacts then import as csv. I am willing to try
anything now as I use this in my business and have to reply to many email
search day. I cannot afford to wait 10-15 seconds fro each window to open.
So I i open contacts, highlight a few then clicked delete. I got a runtime
error R6025. Then I t every time there after I get a window saying
explorer stopped working and needs to be restarted?. MY system is fully
compatible with VISTA and has 4GB memory if that helps. TIA for any help
