Slow network

So after doing Windows updates, disabling IPv6, disabling rss & auto-tuning
level, I still have very poor network performance on one of two new Vista
systems. Internet is fine, browsing network and RDP performance is very poor.
I did not install the update in KB938979 because it doesn't specifically
address the issue I'm having. Any ideas on what to try next? These are
identical machines purchased at the same time.

I compared driver versions to the identical system that is no longer having
this problem. The network adapter drivers are identical and no updates appear
to be available. I did not check other drivers though.
