Slow network browsing from Win XP to Win 2K Server

I recently added a remote Win XP Pro workstation and it
is extremely slow in browsing shared folders on a Win 2K
server located at our main office. I have an existing Win
2K workstation configured the same as the XP workstation
at the same remote location that connects and browses
folders on the server with no problems. When I try to
browse a network folder on the Win XP Pro machine it
hangs while trying to browse folders and sub-folders. I
am connecting via DSL using a dynamic IP address locally.
Is there some setting I should change or modify. This
obviously is not unique to this particular workstation as
I have recently experienced the same behavior on other
remote Win XP machines as well. Any idea's on what I can
do to resolve this problem. In looking over other post's
it talks about pointing the clients to the DNS server
that hosts the AD domain, but when I do that I lose
connectivity with my remote ISP. Any help would be
appreciated.
