I have users that take a very long time to authenticate to the network. They
eventually log on but take much longer than the other users. Their group
memberships and profiles are identical.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you.

Check two things:
- DNS server configuration on their workstations
- check Network card configuration (duplex and speed settings) on this
workstations if it meets the seetings on the switch to which they are
connected

Are you using roaming profiles? If so, check these users profile size

Aftetr doing Tomasz suggsetions check DNS again.

Then again.

Are they logign on to the same domain? Anything odd about their connections?
Soemtimes forcing kerberos to use TCP solves the slow logon problem. Though
IME that tends to apply only when connecting over a slow link.
