Slow logon to Server 2000

Got a 2000 server network with clients using 2000 pro and XP pro. The server
does all the work, AD, file sharing etc but is fairly beefy and able to cope.
The 2000 clients log on in 1-2 seconds but the XP clients can take up to 3
minutes! THe worst thing is that the XP clients are of a higher spec than the
2000 machines. Anyone any ideas before disgruntled users come and linch me??!!
