Slow login to 2003

We have a Windows 2003 server setup as a child domain under another 2003
server. This server handles all logins for a lab where we use roaming
profiles. It has been running fine for 6 months but now all 24 workstations
are having a long wait of 5 - 15 minutes before the desktop shows. Once it is
up everything runs fine. Our DNS and DHCP is running on a Linux server. We
are not running any GP's or battery backups. I have tried setting up a DNS
service on the child domain server but that didn't seem to help. I had the
server pointing to its own Ip address and the workstations DNS settings set
to the server. I also setup forwarding to the Linux box.
