slow login + svchost.exe

after login in it takes abnormaly long before getting to the desktop, 5 svchost.exe processes in the taskmanager which i did not notice before, one of them network, one local, rest system. After arriving on desktop rundll error (mcasn1.dll in windows/system32). Also problems with norton antivirus.

Don't know if this applies or not, but I had something similar that turned
out to be some sort of conflict with Norton System Works (a suite of av,
tools, etc.). Removed System Works & it straightened out.
