Slow forwarding response for yahoo.com (mx)

Alright... Ace Fekay helped me with an email problem I had.
My DNS server wouldn't resolve the MX records for yahoo.com.
Disabled EDNS like Ace suggested and now it works!! :)

There is only one little strange thing still going on with it though... !

The TTL for yahoo's MX record is about 2 hours. If after that I try to use
NSLOOKUP, SET TYPE=MX, yahoo.com, it fails again.. !
The first time that is.. if I try again a second time, it'll resolve it.
You can recreate the problem by going in to the DNS console and delete yahoo
from the cache...

Why is it so slow to resolve it and does this happen to others or only me?!
I've tried a bunch of other domains, but can't find anyone else where this
happens..

Thanks for any help!

It just means that the client gave up while the DNS server was chasing down
referrals for the records. The client gave up, the DNS server found the
records and caches them. Then the next time you ask for it, it pulls it out
of cache and gave it to you. If you clear the Cache, then the server has to
go chase the records down again, and the client will give up waiting again.
Got the picture?

Yes, I know that, but why is it so slow? It doesn't seem to be the norm,
because if I go in and delete other domains in the cache, hotmail, aol,
etc... and then try to look them up from the client, it comes back
instantaneously.. !
Only one that requires two tries is yahoo.com, at least that I'm aware of...

I have now tested this on two other networks with their own DNS servers, and
they don't have this problem....

Confusing.. !? :(
I mean, it's not a HUGE biggie, but still, it'll sometimes cause an annoying
delay for the email to go out to a yahoo client...

Any ideas why it's so slow with yahoo, but not with any other domains??

Thanks!
