Hey,

I am running windows XP Pro (new install) on a PIII, 400Mb ram. If i want to
locate a file in a program (e.g. saving an attach in a certain folder from
outlook; navigating to open a file in excel, ...) display of folder content
is very slow (30 seconds per folder), which makes it extremely slow to
locate a file 8 subdirs deeper. Folder display in explorer itself (not from
within a program) is not like that. Any suggestions? I tried disabling
visual effects, automatic checking of network drives etc.

Tanx, elvis.
