Hi!

I've noticed recently that my windows 2000 machine has
slowed down really badly. I'm not sure why, but maybe I
have too many things on the hard drive and maybe alot of
things are running that don't need to be.

I have 32GB hard drive and have bought a 120GB one to
improve matters (and i need the extra space) but I'm not
sure if this alone will fix things.

Should I try to upgrade my version of windows or just re-
install the version I bought (may '02).

I have performed a few of the windows updates from the web
but not all.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Hello,

larger hard drive will not make a difference unless this
is a faster spindle speed drive and you put the page file
on it.

Defragment your drive, and see if this will make a
difference.

If it does not see how much RAM you have and bring it up
to 256 MB of RAM. Also have a look in your task manager
and see which process is taking up the most time.

If this does not work check your CPU and see if it can be
upgraded through replacement.

hope this helps
