Slow Domain Client (Windows XP Pro) off of domain

Windows XP SP2 clients Domain PCs that access a home network whether wired or
wireless act very slugish, particularly when opening Internet Explorer.
Disconnect them from the non-domain network and the sluggishness goes away.
If I disable "TCP/IP Netbios Helper Service" the problem also goes away.
Problem is I need netbios for 1 network app. Any ideas?

Basically, any other network besides Domain and PCs are sliggish. Given that
problem goes away when disabling "TCP/IP Netbios Helper Service".

Thanks.

Peter,

The NetBIOS Helper service is part of Windows Networking. You can sometimes
spot configuration problems by examining the output from "browstat status" and
"ipconfig /all".

In my case the problem was a UNC in a user path. In this case it was the
domain netlogon share (\\domain.com\netlogon). I removed this and peformance
went back to normal when off the domain.
