SLOW context menu

V

Vic Baron

I have a system running XP Pro SP2 that is acting strangely in that, if I
right click the desktop ( or Explorer, etc ) it takes almost 30 seconds
before the context menu will show.

I've checked for virus, spyware, adware, etc - all is clean.

Only thing unusual about this system is that XP resides on drive M rather
than C. Plenty of disk space available.

Any thoughts?

Thanx,

Vic

Vic,

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers:

Right-click is extremely slow only when Network is enabled:

Right click crashes Explorer.exe after installing Windows XP SP2?:

Happy New Year to you also, Ramesh.

I used the ShellExView program and was able to track down the bad context
handler. Deleted it and all is well. Thank you very much!
