Hi, Have two XP machines (both with SP2) that can access files from each
other. However, it just seems slow reading/writing to the opposite machine.
I'm using a 802.11b network in my house.

Any thoughts on how to increase performance?

Are you one of the many folks who magically expect the Sustained Transfer Rate
to be close to the advertised peak bit rate? If so, lower your expectations
*a lot*. And, note that accurately measuring STR requires some care to run
near standalone, and that transferring a single large file produces better
STRs than transferring a bunch of little files, and that there are several
different ways to transfer a file (uphill/downhill, push/pull) which have
different STR, that the user credentials can strongly affect STRs, and that
infrastructure mode may be slower than ad hoc mode.
