Why is my computer running so slow?

1. I bought a new hard-drive, did not install anything and I still get it

2. I have absolutely no spyware/adware

3. My specs are: Intel P4 1.5 Ghz
512 MB RAM
64 MB RADEON Video card
Soundblaster Live Sound Card
160 GB Maxtor Hard Drive

4. I have Norton Internet Security 2004

5. I have Win XP home SP2

Anything else, I'll give it to you

How about your definition of "slow"? How do you know if
you haven't installed anything?

Click start > Run > type in: "msconfig" without quotes > startup (tab)
uncheck any unncessary programs that might be starting up with the system
and restart.
