My computer is REALLY slow and I have programs that wont delete completly
because they are corrupted??? I just figured wiping out everything and
starting over would make my computer run (somewhat) new, but I dont know how
to wipe out everything. My question is, Is there an easier way to make my
computer run faster or can someone just let me know how to clean it all out??
Please help!
Thank You

First make sure that you have all of the necesary drivers on
CD...mobo/video/audio/etc.
Then make sure you have all of the programs that you aim to use on CD....for
reinstallation.
Safe any personal data/files that you wish to keep.
Then do a reinstall of XP formatting the HD during the install. This deletes
everything on the HD.
Then install the mobo drivers....video drivers.......audio
drivers.........other drivers
Now reinstall all of the programs that you aim to use.

Without knowing more about your computer, it is really hard to say. Here
are some links that may help if you don't want to reinstall:

Also.. Start - Run - MSCONFIG - Startup Tab - Disable Everything
except your antivirus. It should startup a bit faster then.

Without knowing who built your computer, it would be really hard to
advise you on the best way to restore it to like new condition.

Most branded OEM builders like HP, Compaq. Gateway and the likes use
either a restore disc or a restore program to restore your computer
to like it was when you first bought it.
If they use a restore disc then you must have the
original restore disc that came with the computer If
you do not have this disc then you either have to buy another one or
buy a retail version of the operating system and do everything from
scratch. You [b:fec993e26f]can not[/b:fec993e26f] use just anyones
restore disc as they are all different.

If they use the restore program...it will be either in conjunction
with a disc that you will have to burn from the program or it is
embedded within the bios and a seperate partition on your harddrive.

It would be best to stop here and direct you to contacting the
manufacturer's website and checking with them on what way they use.

If you have problems afterwards please repost and supply us with all
the information that you can about the computer and operating system
and we will try to help you along.

Me again! I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who replied. Instead of
starting over, i decided to download Killbox. And that HELPED ALOT!!! There
was atleast 5 files hanging around on here that I could not get rid of and
now they are gone and it runs sooo much better!! Thank You very much!!!
