Slow browsing in XP vs. 2000

I was wondering if anyone has run into this before. On my network my windows
2000 sp4 machines based in Connecticut can quickly browse file shares on my
Atlanta, GA server. My Windows XP sp2 machines however (all 125 of them)
crawl when browsing over the wan. I cannot find a reason for this. Event
logs and snmp traps indicate nothing wrong with net traffic and I even
created a static wins entry for one XP test machine to no avail. Any
ideas??? Thanks in advanse!

Seriously, do you really think I'd leave the firewall on in a domain
environment... Something useful perhaps???
