Slow browsing across network only from XP

D

Dale

I am experiencing a slow browsing response across a multi
platform network with Unix, Linux, FreeBSD and Win 2000 and
XP machines. The Win 2000 machines are 100% in terms of
their browsing response. Only havig hassles on WinXP machines.
Can anyone tell me if there is a service i can disable or
something i can change to improve this.
Also anyone who knows how to switch off the published
shares across the network. This is the list of every
possible share being shown when you open up My network
Places........
I think it has to do with Active Directory but not sure
where to change it
PLEASE HELP SOMEONE
Thanks

sounds like DNS issue. I would check the DNS settings first.

DNS settings are fine. Replicate of the 2000 boxes.
And the 2000 machines are 100% in response time.
Any other suggestions, anybody
