slow boot

When restarting Windows XP, there is a pause in the
startup sequence approximately 1 minute 30 seconds. This
is just prior to the display to select user login. The
first time this ocurred, i thought boot sequence had
failed to complete, but with patience, I determined the
machine would boot every time if you just wait. Any hints?

Go to www.microsoft.com and download the BootVis tool. It analyses your boot
procedure, shows you the details, and will optimise your boot times.
