Slow automatic updates?

I have a PC running XP Home SP2, DSL connection, with Windows
Automatic Updates turned on, set to download automatically and install at a
specific time.

On Feb. 8, Microsoft released several security updates/patches. Yet
as of Feb. 9, 4pm ET, the updates haven't been downloaded to my computer
yet. Is it normal for AU to take so long to reach everybody? Anybody else
had those updates downloaded to your computer yet?

It does not work here as well. May take some days due to the many
download requests now.
