What is the different between slotted and Socket processor? which one is
used these days

sockets have taken over that job these days. it refers to the way the
connector is configured- slotted =slot not unlike a memory dimm or a PCI
card. socket= multiple male pinned chip being inseted into a multipinned
female connector, nowadays refered to as a "zif"(zero insertion force) when
dealing with CPU's..

Slotted processors are not produced anymore. Intel Pentium III's were
slotted for a while several years ago. Now everyone uses various socket
configurations.
