Slipstream XP CD Problem

Matthew Clark

I created a Slipstreamed XP CD that installs XP without user interaction. I
use winnt.sif and want to now do some automated installs. The problem is, I
created \I386\$OEM$\C and \I386\$OEM$\Programs. Neither of which get copied
to the HD, so my GUIRUNONCE does not work. Is it possible to do what I am
wanting with a Slipstreamed CD? If so, can anyone think of what I might be
doing wrong?

Thanks,

Matthew

For a CD, $OEM$ needs to live at the same level as i386. Also, you need the
OEMPreinstall=Yes line in your winnt.sif file.

I've documented my experience with Windows 2000 at
www.willowhayes.co.uk/windows2000/custom.doc

Windows XP is somewhat similar (note that CDKey/PIDKey difference in
particular).

Ok. Thanks for the link. It worked great. Now my next question is, is
there a way to skip the initial screen that registers the PC and asks for a
username, and have it go directly to the windows desktop?

Thanks again,

Matthew
