Hello,
my main platform is W2K and was recently damaged. After a crash it was
impossible to reinstall the Geforce 7900 graphics card. In this process
the file "system32\config\system." apparently was damaged. The "r"epair
option of the CD could not (automatically) find the installation.

I probably have to reinstall W2K and produced a slipstreamed Boot-CD (with
SP4). I don't know what will happen then because the "natural" drive
letters have reassigned.

However, my greatest worry is the support for large partitions. Will that
be included automatically in the slipstreamed CD? (Or is that worry
unnecessary because the installation will be restriced to the small system
partition?)

Whenever I have used a slipstreamed win2k cd the resulting installation has
had large disk support (I installed onto 150gb drives)

Not sure what you mean by 'natural' drive letters

Until you put EnableBigLba = 1 into the registry, Windows 2000 with
SP3 or 4 cannot access past 137 GB.

Make sure your install is below the 128GB mark.
On first boot into the O/S you'll need to enable 48-bit LBA.

Actually, it is supposed to be a repair of a W2K partition beyond 128GB
mark. :-(

It appears that such a repair is impossible with just a slipstream CD. So
I'll try to copy the partition below the 128GB barrier.

Thanks for your help.
