I have noticed a file called slights.exe running in the
Task Manager. It is under the user name of SYSTEM and
its Memory usage is 3.452kb. I have searched high and
low over the internet for any information about it, but
cannot find it. It is not running in my start up menu
and does not seem to appear in services when running
msconfig.

Any ideas?

Hi Sue---
Here is a site that has answered a lot of my "what's that?" questions. Is it possible you have it slightly mis-spelled? www.answersthatwork.com click on task list, then check whatever you're looking for, alphabetically. See ya!

.

start, execute. type regedit and press ctrl and f (find).
search for "runonce" when you find it, you look into the
nearby folders run, runonce and runonceex. when you find
slights.exe delete it. press F3 to continue search, until
the whole registry is done. the search again for the
slights.exe, maybe it has been written somewhere else
too(cant be good anyways:) ) search in your windows folder
and system32 folder for slights.exe, and delete it first of
all, in the windows/system32/dllcache folder. this is where
the main system repairing works from, the files are stored
there, if you delete one in the system it will be copied
from dllcache. have a nice day :)

Unfortunately, the only reference in the registry I could
find for slights.exe was in a search I made in Google for
it! I really am intrigued by it - as I cannot locate it
anywhere and want to know what this file is. I have also
looked in the windows folder, have done a full hard drive
search and still it cannot be found! HELP
