Slightly OT : Wireless

Forgive the slightly off topic question.

Our embedded Xpe device will be located inside a Nema 4 enclosure in an
industrial environment. We want the ability to drive up withing 20-30' of
the enclosure and be able to communicate the the embedded device.
Currently, we have several UI's. One is a Web Server and the other is
remote desktop. We do currently use file sharing as well. The user would
use either laptop or PDA depending on what that person has been assigned.

Would 802.11 be a better solution than Bluetooth? Seems like it would
automatically setup an Adhoc connection and netwrking would be no problem
and it appears faster.

Any recomendations?

I am currently working on a project with some similar specs; XPe inside a
Nmea enclosure with 802.11, peltier cooler and some other trick stuff. For
the UI, I plan on using an ASP.NET application and the web server will be a
variant of the Cassini project (from www.asp.net). You can find the variant

Which 802.11 Card do you use? Does it have an external antenna?

Actually, our device is hooked up to a wireless firewall/router. BTW I read
you post about having problems with the wireless network. Have you tried
using regmon? With Regmon you can determine what registry settings change
when you disable windows from managing your connection and also determine
what the settings are for your dlink application. You may be able to push
down your settings manually to the registry. Regmon:
