Sliding systray - possible to get static, stable systray back?

I don't know what I did. I rarely have that kind of thing happen
anymore, but there you go. My systray is no longer visible at all. I
have to hover the mouse pointer over the area for it to slide into
view. But the minute mouse pointer moves out of general area, it
slides closed again. Very annoying.

I've googled, but absolutely nothing has come up so far on how to fix.
I've rebooted and problem persists so it seems a setting may be been
toggled somehow (hoping that's all it is, anyhow).

How can I fix this, please?

Thanks. :blush:D

Try right-clicking a blank area of your taskbar, left-click Properties. Take
the tick out of "Hide inactive icons" - and put one in "Show the clock" if
needs be.

Does that help?

Thank, yes, for your help. No, I tried that and all other things I
could think of <g>. Glad to you report that it was an external
problem to WinXP. I checked and double-checked a minimize-to-tray 3rd
party utility I had for any setting I may have accidentally ticked,
but I couldn't find anything despite about 3 intensive searches
through all the tabs in the options of that program.

Last night after being away from problem all day, came back to look
again because the problem didn't happen until I tested this program,
but was lucky. I found the option that says "hide the systray".
D'uh!!! <g> But I honestly thought the problem might lie with WinXP
since I couldn't find the solution yesterday, so in desperation, I
posted here. I can't be without the systray!

So I'm very happy to report that no more sliding to have access to
everything and I see my specialized clock again! Phew.

Thanks!

Glad you finally cracked it - thanks for reporting back!
