Sliding Shapes

Hello Folks,

Apologies if this is very basic, but I have never used PowerPoint before and
we all have to start somewhere.

What I want to do is simply create 10 boxes on screen, 5 on left and 5 on
right. When I click on the left ones, they slide off to the left and clicking
on the right ones will send them off to the right. All help greatfully
accepted.

Please could you answer in laymans terms, because as I have already pointed
out, I am VERY new to PowerPoint.

Looking forward to your answer in anticipation.

You will get more specific instructions if you tell us which version of
PowerPoint you have.

For 2007

Select a shape
Animation tab > Custom Animation

In the new pane that opens

Add Effect > Exit > Fly Out

Choose to left or to right as appropriate

You now need to set the animation to have a TRIGGER of ithe shape itself

These should help

http://www.echosvoice.com/triggers.htm

In 2002/3 Start at Slide Show > Custom Animation
97/2000 you cannot do this.

Hello John,
Many apologies for not pointing out which version (It was 2007). I have
posted many times in Publisher, Excel groups and it is something that I
always forget to do. I will try harder next time.

Many thanks for your answer. It was just what i was looking for.

I am now going to try to get to grips with PowerPoint, just as I have with
Publisher over the years.

Best regards.

Hi Big Rick

Can I recommend you have a look at the MS training courses? They don't take
long and will save you time in the end (for example, there are 3 on
animation):
PowerPoint training (2007):

There is also one that is for 2003 but I would still recommend, particularly
if you currently delete those pesky 'click here to add text' boxes ;-) (the
wink is because you shouldn't delete them btw)
Design efficiently with masters:
