Slides out of order after moving to another machine - PP2003

Note: I'm still waiting for a response from one user to find out which
version of PP he is using.

We use PowerPoint 2003 for our projectors at church. The slides are
developed by various members and e-mailed to one who puts it all together.
The finished product is then placed in an FTP space to be transferred to the
church. A CD is made from the original as a back-up, but is usually not
available until shortly before the service begins - long story...

This generally happens without a problem. This Sunday, however, slides two
and three were transposed. When scrolling through the slides before the
service, these two slides were transposed. In my twenty+ years of tech
support, I'd never seen that happen. Another member said that happens at her
job all the time.

When we attempted to repair the presentation (still waiting for the CD to
arrive), the backgrounds for the first song disappeared. That I'd seen quite
often. The slide-show developer was able to copy another slide with the
background to those two slides.

Later, I reviewed the CD, and the slides were in the correct order. I
reviewed the show on FTP, and the two slides were reversed. There was no
indication that the document had been corrupted.

Any ideas on why the transposition occurred? Better yet - any ideas on how
to prevent this from occurring in the future?

1) What is the size of the presentation?

2) Are all the contributing users current on their Office upgrades?

3) Have you tried making a copy of the FTP version and round tripping it
thru HTML? (This tends to remove minor corruption)

4) Are you using the send & review mode?

5) Does everyone have fast saves turned off?

6) Are any of the computers low-end (strapped for resources)?
